I will admit I mainly just want the badge... but who doesn't like stories? So, here we go:
I have been a member of dA for about four years now, which is surprising because it doesn't feel like it's been that long. I love being able to log in and see so many beautiful and inspiring things every day. It's even better to be able to talk to the people who create them, to be able to learn from them, share thoughts and ideas, share advice and make friends. I don't want to bore anyone by going all philosophical on you (this time...), so I'll keep this bit short: There's no place like deviantArt.
As the only creative type in my family, I've never really had anyone I could go to when it came to art, apart from my highschool art teacher - I hope one day I can make her proud. This site has helped me learn and improve, not to mention expand, my skills.
Before I joined I only ever did traditional work, like these:
While I enjoy drawing traditional - and I know I still have a lot to learn about it, I knew from the moment I looked around the site for the first time that I wanted to try digital work. The shiny, colourful and seemingly impossible to do pictures that so many talented artist were (and still are) so good at!
So, towards the end of that first year, I took my first baby steps into the world of drawing digitally:
I only had MS Paint to work with, so that's all I used right up until this year when my computer had to be replaced (I now use Paint, if you were wondering). I worked really hard and practised often, being completely self taught it was the only thing I knew how to do. Bit by bit I improved!
I now know that hard work and practice are the basic and most important tools of any artist no matter what they're doing. So I always make sure to at least do some doodles everyday and write down any ideas for when I have more time.
Practice definitely helped! It also made me brave enough to try new things:
Things like backgrounds, tutorials and references were still pretty unknown to me, but as time went on I kept learning new things.
Eventually, I got better! I got involved in groups and contests - meeting a lot of nice people along the way.
I even experimented with writing!
I have a lot of fun here on dA, everyday is different and it makes me want to learn and explore everything! I love it when I get comments from people, especially the ones that lead to conversations about ideas and things. It's interesting to find out how different people see the world.
I still have so much to look at and learn about, I'm excited to find out where my little art journey will take me. But, until the day I can look back at this journal and laugh at how much of a rookie I was comes, I'm just going to keep taking it a step at a time.
Who knows? Maybe one day I'll be brave enough to stop hiding most of it in my Scraps. X3
I don't like having to choose between deviations, but I thought I'd feature a few pieces (sharing is good!):

The piece you took of my heart
You and I, we were made to hurt each other
Fall in love
Then
Fall apart.
The Voiceless.

Hush little dove,
Do not mourn for me,
Your tears are like
The endless sea.
The moon is full,
The stars are bright
So spread your wings,
It will be alright.
I am right here,
to lift you high,
For it's such a shame
To let you die.
Hush little dove,
Do not mourn for me,
Your tears are like
The endless sea.

To start off, Paul and I were best friends. We had grown up together, thick as thieves, and spent very little time apart. When we entered high school, he and I even starting making plans to attend the same college so we could stay close.
On March 27th, when Paul and I were 17, Paul was diagnosed with Spasmodic dysphonia and he needed to have his throat operated on or he'd lose his voice. His mother checked him into the hospital and as soon as I got out of class I rushed over to the hospital to be with him. I knew he wouldn't have the operation until later that night but I needed to see him before that, just to make sure he was alright.
When I entered the hospital it w
I'm sorry I never loved youI'm sorry
I'm sure you want
that to mean alot of things
but in truth it means one
hurtful truth.
I'm sorry I never loved you
not in the way
you would've wanted me to
not in the way you needed me to,
I'm sorry I loved the ideal
of you and me
the wonderful beauty that
be birthed from our attractions
more than I loved the person
within that fantasy.
I'm sorry I forced
the delusion of perfection
upon you and held
you to those
improbable expectations
of my selfish imagination.
I'm sorry that I placed
the necessity of us
above the desires of you.
I'm sorry
that I wasn't the guy you deserved
and that I wasted my few chances
with someone as wonderful as you.
I'm sorry I never loved you
till you were already gone.

Deception-Nation Recruitment Drive!
Hello!
The group is always open to new members. :)
As the title says, the Transformers group Decepticon-Nation (https://www.deviantart.com/decepticon-nation) is having a recruitment drive!
If you or someone you know would like to join, now is a great time as we are having a recruitment contest, which I'll explain a little further below. :)
You probably already guessed, but this group is for Decepticon OCs only. (Sorry, Autobots!)
There are plenty of fun missions to do to play along with the main story, earning ranks and competing with others both in whichever class(medic, scientist, frontliner, etc.) you choose, if you prefer fun rivalries, and with others from other classes, i
DeviantArtist Questionnaire
I know there are a lot of these but I kinda really want the badge. :)
How long have you been on DeviantArt? - Five years, not that it feels like it. Feels like I've always been here.
What does your username mean? - Aside from being an example of one of my sillier moments, I guess it doesn't have a set meaning.
Describe yourself in three words. - Determind. Curious. Nervous.
Are you left or right handed? - Ambidextrous.
What was your first deviation? - Can't remember for sure, but, maybe this one?
What is your favourite type of art to create? - I'm not sure I have a favourite, I'm still playing around with everything!
If you

A friend of mine has recently reached a milestone with their work and I wanted to share it with you guys!

These are just a few, you should definitely check out the rest. :)

And here is the latest one, marking triple digits!
Congrats, my friend! We're all very proud of you, and you should be proud of yourself, too!
First Journal of 2015!
Goodnight, 2014. Thank you for the memories. Hello, 2015. Let's see what we'll achieve!
Don't know why I didn't update this sooner, but here we are at last.
First of all: I might have the flu, so I'm kinda really not well right now. Sorry in advance if parts of this journal don't makes sense.
Second: Everything else!
Lately, I'm trying to limit myself to uploading only once or twice a week. It's just a little experiment, not sure if I'll stick to it or not, so we'll see how we go. I'm also trying to focus more on my art this year, so you'll probably see some random stuff while I test the waters with some new things. I don't quite have a
